Our Story

A winery in the village of Tirdznisi, Gori Municipality — in the historic region of Samachablo.

Ancient roots — timeless wine.

LLC NCD Wineland has established the House of Bread & Wine winery in the village of Tirdznisi, Gori Municipality. The winery is in the historic region of Samachablo, approximately 5 km from Tskhinvali and near the occupation line.

Local grape varieties grow in the unique landscape of Inner Kartli, giving each wine its own character.

Carved stone wall of the winery

Traditional architecture

The winery is built with medieval Georgian construction techniques using river stone, lime and Georgian brick. The mass of the walls keeps the cellar at working temperature the whole year.

The qvevri hall

The qvevri hall

Traditional Georgian qvevri — clay vessels for wine — buried to the neck, with a total capacity of up to 100 tons. Wines ferment and age on the full skins for six months, which gives the amber wines their colour.

Stainless-steel tanks in the production hall

Modern production

Beside the qvevri hall stands the modern one: stainless-steel wine tanks with approximately 200 tons of total capacity, where the classic-method whites are made.

Mosaic niches in the cellar wall

The mosaic pathway

At the entrance, visitors are welcomed by a distinctive mosaic pathway paved with stones brought from different regions of Georgia, leading to a flowing vine emerging from a qvevri.
