Built of river stone and lime

The House of Bread & Wine is built with medieval Georgian construction techniques — and holds 100 tons of qvevri beside 200 tons of steel.

The walls are river stone, lime and Georgian brick, laid the way Georgian builders worked centuries ago. It is not a decoration: the mass of the walls keeps the qvevri hall at cellar temperature the whole year.

Two halls share the building. In one, traditional Georgian qvevri sit buried to the neck — up to 100 tons of them. In the other, stainless-steel tanks hold around 200 tons for the classic-method wines. The two lines on our list come from these two rooms.

At the entrance, a mosaic pathway paved with stones brought from different regions of Georgia leads to a flowing vine emerging from a qvevri — the whole country walking you toward the wine.
