Shertuli — where two rivers meet

The name on our qvevri labels comes from the place where the Patara and Didi Liakhvi rivers join. That confluence is why the wine tastes the way it does.

Between the Caucasus and Trialeti ranges, the Patara and Didi Liakhvi rivers come together, and the place where they join is called Shertuli. Our vineyards grow there, in Inner Kartli, and the name went onto the label because the land earned it.

River confluences make generous soils: stone carried down from two valleys, water close to the roots, cool air moving along the riverbeds through the heat of summer. This unique territory gives the wine its distinctive aromatic character.

The Goruli Mtsvane and Chinuri picked there ferment on the full skins in clay qvevri for six months. The amber colour, the gentle tannins, the balanced acidity — all of it starts at the meeting of two rivers.
